Dear friends,

As the year draws to a close, we wanted to begin with something simple: thank you.

These past weeks have brought a wave of new subscribers to Notes From Plague Island, and it has been genuinely heartening to feel such recognition for our work. Every one of you, whether free or paid, has joined us on this island of thought, critique, and resistance. We’re so happy to have you aboard.

November was a whirlwind of writing. Our piece ‘Fear and Loathing on Air Force One’ became our most-read article ever - a record we didn’t see coming.

It seems it touched a very raw nerve: Trump’s grotesque treatment of women, female journalists, and anyone who confronts him with inconvenient truths.

That such behaviour still shocks and angers so many, is, in its own way, reassuring. It means the moral compass isn’t broken everywhere.
